NCMH Policies

Terms and Conditions

You become a North Cascades Mountain Hostel ("Company") by completing a reservation for short-term lodging with the Company, by accepting any other product or service from the Company, or by entering the property of 209 Castle Ave. ("Property").  You thereby agree to comply with and be bound by the following Guest Policies.

The Guest may complete reservations online, by phone, or in person, and will make full payment at that time (unless stated otherwise by our third-party booking partners).  Company Staff may decline same-day reservation requests after 10pm.

The Guest may check-in between 3pm and 10pm.  The Guest will be at least 18 years old.  If Company Staff have not received and confirmed a late check-in request, and the Guest does not check in before 10pm, Company Staff may offer the reservation to another Guest or charge the Guest a late check-in fee if arriving after 10pm.  The late check-in fee is equal to fifty percent (50%) of the rate for the first night of the reservation.

The Guest will check-out before 11am unless Company Staff approve a late check-out request.  Otherwise, Company Staff will charge a late check-out fee.  The late check-out fee is equal to fifty-percent (50%) of the rate for the first night of the reservation.  The Guest will pay for all remaining charges before check-out.

Rates will be displayed on the Company website or by our third-party booking partners.  Rates are subject to change and the Company reserves the right to modify rates at any time without notice.  Rates may not include state and local taxes.

Company Staff will charge the Guest a minimum $500 fee for possessing illegal drugs or weapons of any kind on the Property, a minimum $250 fee for smoking or vaping indoors or bringing a pet indoors, a minimum $25 cleaning fee plus any additional damage for spills, vomit, etc, a $10 fee for lost bedding/towel, a $5 fee for a lost lock, and a $5 fee for a bed turn-over after 11am.

Company Staff will require payment from the Guest for any damage incurred by the Guest and may charge the payment card of the Guest or obtain payment by other reasonable means.

In the Spring, Summer and Fall you can cancel up to seven (7) days prior to check-in at no charge. After that, you will be charged 50% of your entire rservation. In the Winter, you can cancel up to fourteen (14) days prior to check-in at no charge. After that, you will be charged 50% of your entire reservation. If you cancel within 48 hours or don't show up,  you will charged 100% of your total amount due.

We cannot be responsible for winter weather conditions. If you will be arriving during the winter, please be sure you have proper equipment for driving in the snow, and carry tire chains for driving over the passes. Our local roads are always kept open and in good condition for winter travel. There are no refunds for road closures; however, if both Stevens and Snoqualmie mountain passes are closed for more than eight hours and the closures prohibit you from reaching the property, you may reschedule your stay for an arrival within three months of the pass closures. Please note that the North Cascades Pass is always closed during winter.

We recommend you check weather conditions before driving through the passes during the winter, either through the DOT's website at (click on "Mountain Passes"), or by calling 800-695-ROAD.

Reservations requiring a deposit (large groups and whole hostel reservations) will be charged a service fee of 30% of the reservation if cancelled outside the 7 day deadline; Group/Whole Hostel reservations cancelled within 7 days of their arrival date will forfeit their 50% deposit.

The Company will provide limited, unsecured parking for the Guest.  The Company will not be liable for damage to vehicles and their contents.

The Guest will respect Company Staff, the Property, and other guests and may neither jeopardize the health and safety of Company Staff or other Guests nor interrupt their enjoyment of the Property.  Additionally, the Guest will comply with requests of Company Staff.  The Guest will not consume alcohol on the Property if under 21 years of age.  The Company reserves the right to refuse service for any conduct deemed disrespectful by Company Staff or for any reason.  The Company will not be liable to refund payment to the Guest for disrespectful conduct.

Minors under 18 years of age may enter the Property if supervised by a parent/guardian or an adult family member.

The Property is provided in “as is” condition.  Guest use of the Property is at the risk of the Guest.  The liability of the Company to any Guest for direct damages will be limited to the value of revenue the Company received from the Guest.  The Company will not be liable for indirect damages of any kind whether consequential, special, or other.  The Company will neither be liable for nor provide compensation for circumstances outside the Company's control that could not have been reasonably anticipated including but not limited to government actions, terrorist activities, and natural disasters.

The Guest will bear the risk of loss, theft, or damage of personal property belonging to the Guest and the Company will not be held responsible.

The Guest will indemnify the Company and Company Owners against any claims against the Company or Company Owners resulting from the actions or inactions of the Guest and will release the Company and Company owners of all related liability. This Agreement will be governed by the laws of the State of Washington without regard to its conflict of law provisions. If the Company and the Guest fail to agree, the matter will be resolved in the following order: mediation, arbitration, litigation.

The Company may modify these Guest Policies at any time without notice. If any of these Guest Policies are rendered unenforceable, all others will remain enforceable.
